We work to end poverty and inequality for a just future for everyone, everywhere - because it’s possible 💚
As Oxfam, we participate in COP because we are seeing a clear link between rising inequality and climate change. As the super rich continue to profit from polluting our land and waters, we are the ones who ultimately pay the price. That isn't just unequal - it is unjust.

At Oxfam, we're focused on the injustice of poverty and inequality. And our work in the region has shown us one thing - rising inequality is being fuelled by the climate crisis. Our colleague Wini who is at #COP30 in Brazil shares why this is a priority for us, & what we're doing about it 💚

Every year, Oxfam in the Pacific is asked (justifiably) why we even go to COP. It's a fair question, one that our colleague, Wini, takes on.

But whether we're at COP or not - we're fighting for a climate just future where Pacific Islanders can thrive and not just survive 💚

Across the Global South, communities are being displaced, ecosystems destroyed, and Indigenous lands exploited — all in the name of a 'green transition.' This is climate colonialism, and it needs to end. Read more about this in our new Oxfam report: policy-practice.oxfam.org/resources/un...

Today, the warning signs are clear: the green energy transition is being built on unequal foundations. Find out more in our new report here: policy-practice.oxfam.org/resources/un...

A historic day in the fight for climate justice. Today's ruling by the ICJ is more than a legal milestone. It's a win for youth-led movements, indigenous people and large ocean states - and a reminder that when people mobilise as a collective, they can do anything💚

"We carry with us the enduring truth of our identity and place in the world. For our tears taste of salt, to remind us that we are of the sea."

When powerful countries delay action, it's the most vulnerable who pay the price. Rising seas, deadly storms, and heatwaves are stripping people of their basic human rights. The #ClimateICJAO can hold the world to account.

Human rights do not stop at borders, and neither should climate justice. The #ClimateICJAO can set a global standard: states must act, and they must be held accountable when they don’t. No one should be uprooted by greed and neglect.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to put people and planet above profit. The world is watching the ICJ 💚

We cannot separate environmental destruction from human suffering. The #ClimateICJAO can weave human rights into the heart of climate law, protecting those most impacted, now and for generations to come 💚

Hope is not lost. The ICJ ruling has the potential to unite climate, environmental, and human rights law: and finally deliver justice to those already living through the crisis.

Like, repost, and make noise! Polluters must be held to account.

On the 23rd of July the world will witness a defining moment in international law. The International Court of Justice will deliver its first-ever climate advisory opinion — a ruling that will strengthen global legal protections for people and the planet 💚

Movements for #LGBTQIA+ rights are building the rights-based, safe and dignified feminist future we want. It's a future where everyone, no matter their gender or identity, can truly be free and equal.

Here's to a future of freedom from fear and solidarity without exception 💚

We must be able to make decisions about our own bodies & lives, without pressure or discrimination. At Oxfam, we uphold these universal human rights. That includes the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual people & those with other gender or sexuality identities.
June 29, 2025 at 8:36 PM
We all have the right to be safe, free from violence, fear & coercion. Queer & feminist movements have won some hard-fought progress, but now violence and threats against LGBTQIA+ people are rising.

None of us is safe till all of us are safe. #LGBTQIA+rights are human rights.

Our teams have been holding talanoa sessions in Fiji, bringing together our local & regional partners & staff. These conversations have centered on the big questions: How do we strengthen local partners, support communities facing climate change, & prepare for critical moments like COP30 & COP31?
June 23, 2025 at 7:15 AM
We believe that everyone's rights matter - that includes LGBTQIA+ people, this month and every month. This June, we celebrate #Pride, and the right of all people to live in freedom, without fear, and to experience solidarity without exception 💚

Let's build a feminist economy based on care - not just profits. We need feminist solutions that put people and planet first 💚

Woah, we were up to 80 000 people today in Brussels, marching for Palestine. 🇵🇸

Aid must be allowed back in,
A permanent ceasefire and
economical measures like lifting the Eu-Israeli association treaty must be put in place. Belgium can do more.

This is crazy - we will not accept this any longer! 708 million women vs 40 million men out of work due to unpaid care. This is not “just how it is.” It’s gender injustice.
