I really like making fun worldbuilding choices, and conlangs are easily one of the best ways to do it. I actually had no idea about Lexember until this year—maybe I'll have to try and do it in 2026? (Though likely not—I still remember when I tried and failed at doing Inktober back in 2022...) [8/8]

Because I didn't want to expand my syllabary to 240 (lol), some of the consonants change depending on certain things. For example, B can also be a P, as we've seen, and sometimes an H can be an F. My favourite, though, is "sh", which can become "C"—pronounced like a "ch"! [7/8]

Mapaalii resembles a string of beads because beadwork is a very important aspect of the culture in Jemsæa and Mistiika—after all, one of many groups among the people that use Mapaalii are the Biidka, renowned in-universe for making all kinds of beaded objects. [6/8]

Mapaalii, in-universe, is a language used by the people that live on Jemsæa and Mistiika. Since I'm currently learning Anishinaabemowin, I thought re-structuring Mapaalii similarly to a real Indigenous language that I'm familiar with would be more fitting than the pseudo-English it was before. Mapaalii has 12 consonants and 9 vowels, for a total of 108 letters! For instance, here's every letter that begins with a "p" sound... [4/8]

Mapaalii is an abugida! As simply as I can put it, abugidas are very fun types of languages where each "letter" consists of a consonant-vowel pair. Some examples of abugidas are Amharic, Javanese, and the various languages that use Canadian syllabics (keep that last one in mind... 👀) [3/8]

This is Mapaalii, which you may vaguely remember from my earlier Bluesky thread about accent marks (bsky.app/profile/owlk...)! I've since decided that the old version is actually my in-universe English equivalent, Egerish, since it's... well... just plain old ciphered English. [2/8]

(Come to think of it, I most likely scrapped this because having *two* books focused on a family unit of people named after fonts was too many... and the Filcrows already had precedent, even if at the time they may not all have had font names.)

That was the cover for only the first book, but I did draw different gems for all nine books

(Note that I have quite literally never *played* Undertale, and all my knowledge of it comes from wiki browsing and fan content.)

(Not that I needed to see anything firsthand, apparently. It's all there.)

Oh no! Usually I use capitals in my tags for legibility. Sorry about that! The tumblrina took over...

The Temples already hold *all* the gifts of life, I'm sure the Priests already know what it is
