Studied words and images in New Haven & Boston. Now living in some fateless middle-swim bedeviled by mountain laurels, coyotes and bells, bells.
Survival comes in shards. Incapable of piecing together.

You know . . . there's legitimate alarm and then there's batshit alarm. This is the latter.

DSS is now a fucking unmanageable maze. This is deliberate. They tell us one thing and then give us an application. We have no assurance that we are in the system or out of the system. We are worthlesss.

Like art, life and people are complex. Please don't judge on a knee-jerk.

Now . . . I'm not saying I'm, you know, Máni (Moon), and I'm also not saying that Hati, the hateful one among flying wolves, chases me with every damn cycle . . . destined to devour me, because moons are yummy, but, you know . . .

It's Nov. in New England, sky is overcast, no boreal aurora. Again.

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

Sometimes I wish I were Frog and Toad. Both of them at the same time.
Toad took a deep bow.

Frog looked smaller as he shouted, “Hooray for Toad!”

“TOAD WILL NOW PLAY THE PIANO VERY WELL,” said the strange voice.

Toad played the piano, and he did not miss a note.

Damn, these old English ballads! Kristin Hersh did a short record of appalachian tunes, & when she played her best one live she said, "They're all horrible," & she was right, because those tunes are derived from the English ballads about "Murder, Misery and then Goodnight," as she called her record.

I've just re-read the first chapter of Seelie Catch (a novel in seven follies) and for the first time ever I think it works. It's very nearly on the way!

I know I keep posting about my Dad but I just found this among my papers . . . a folder full of his detailed comments on issues of Gone Lawn . . . up to a point. Sigh.

I'll be calling tomorrow and I'm 100% certain they'll tell me my SNAP benefits are not there.

It's popular to say that artists are tellers of lies, but in point of fact they are tellers of actuality (as differentiated from "truth" or "fact").

Yesterday good things happened to me, today is shit so far. I hope it gets better, it's only 6am.

Yet again I'm at the point where I say, the novel is finished (just about). I'm closest now. I know the paths. I know all of the ways to the end, clear.

True, I'm what people deride as a "perfectionist." There's a value to perfectionism. It's making your art better. We need better art.

“Republicans have done something even more insidious: They’ve decided to shut down the SNAP machines. So, even if we were to put money into SNAP accounts, they couldn’t be accessed by someone who has a SNAP card!”
