Definitely feel that! All those things that you listed (plus all the paperwork and hoops to go through to even get to recruitment) don't make it into the write up!

We're project managers, subject matter experts, communicators and possess hands-on skills, all in one!

Yeah very keen to do an episode about actually undertaking research, and have a few guests in mind too!

Having administered CO rebreathe myself, there's certainly a lot of steps (if using a machine like the detalo) to get a minimal performance benefit.

Seems like the UCI and some "journalists" would rather scare monger CO than investigate actual doping or other shady practices in pro cycling!

It's not often you get to hear the ups and downs of training from a 2:15 marathoner, with a full time job and a young child. We hopefully apply some science to the discussion, as well as standalone episodes on sports science topics - check out the podcast! open.spotify.com/show/5Ve414Z...

Very true! Sometimes I think a "narrative appendix" could be included in journal papers that lets the authors talk/show how they did the research. The creative solutions that some very smart & practical people find to do the science could be as interesting as the results themselves (IMO)!

Hey Grace - would love to be added! Doing some work on hot water immersion and EPO!

In this episode we talk about Dan's last big session, and some last minute shoe testing in the lab - as well as our views on how to/how not to test shoes (put the lactate pro down!). We also discuss training programming. Hopefully a nice blend of physiology & actual training. Hope you enjoy 😀

Would love to be on there - working my way into the profession but hoping for some interesting data soon about hot water immersion!

@dan-osborn-nash.bsky.social also worth including for loads of applied content from someone working with athletes every day!
