My story Birds, Vibrant and Wild in Kaleidotrope, is both very different from me and the most 'me' thing I have ever written.

As a decades long 3D artist who used Maya for many years, I would say that Blender is not only viable, but preferred. ZBrush still has the edge for sculpting, but not by much.

I’ll end this with something I’ve said before. Art has value. It’s an essential service. What we do, is one of the most important jobs on this fucking planet. Do not undervalue it or yourself. Ever. Fight for it. Trust me, you will never regret that. 5/5

It was a gamble that cartoon loving octogenarians might not be big video game players.

Was that on my story?
The comment references my story over at Cossmass. Either someone took a wrong turn at Albuquerque while leaving comments, or I have an AI stalker… It does seem odd, but also extremely specific. And I agree, it doesn’t seem like normal AI spam.
Higher quality AI spam? :shrug

But what do you do if you are already full up with both of those?

I can't even imagine getting a program to do the writing for me.
Maybe the proofreading for typos and the archiving of rejection letters, but not the part where I put one word after the other. That's the fun part. Research and crafting a story are the only parts I really want to do.

Each product created, with intention, by people. Designed to be functional and appealing. I'm less concerened with what art we choose to celebrate, and more concerned with why some people are so eager to have us devalue the art around us. Video games, and commentary on them, are art. They just are.

I don't say this to refute your argument, but to expand it. I think the question "are video games art" does a disservice to art. Many people have come to think that products can't be art, but they are. All of them are. Your kitchen chair, traffic lights, a tube of lip balm, all art.
