It's just that---maybe when you spend your days actually doing good in the world, spending effort to measure people's hearts against the shape-sorter-toy of "most moral type of elf game" feels faintly absurd.

I may be already be working on this. Very rules light, OSR-esque when you're doing something outside of magic. You were a peasant, you aren't good at most things. But when you do magic, which might get you killed, you use one of 24 randomly rolled witches, all with bonkers, OP abilities. Like this:

I wanted terre to feel weird and fun (note the vampirism) enough that they'd fit in with the other aliens who can be, like, sentient swarms of mice or masses of tentacles. Fun and weird to play but also sort of the setting's new kids on the block. Thank you!

I'll skip over variable difficulty, and the ability to expend extra dice on roles. For now I'll be focusing on the moves and playsheets. In Outside us Nothing each character is created by selecting a type of alien, a background, and a ship role, with each selection adding to your arsenal of moves.
