you should try rehike, its a local frontend for youtube and i believe they have mac instructions. downgrades the actual software of the site to the 2017 version for better performance and has locaal ad injection blocking that works without ublock.

this is why I find it so hard to use bluesky, like yeah news is important but it's annoying when it's all anyone talks about here especially since it's American centric
