My partner asked me to draw Miss Norway from memory and I drew this and she told me to post it so here it is.

Initial sketch and completed illustration of this warrior princess. I really liked how the sword looked just flat black so I had to leave it.

Really wanted to dig in deep on the layers and textures for that midcentury pre-separated art look. Working on a new Gift for the Perils & Princesses TTRPG called “Glimmering Allure” a full on, deeply charming sparkle princess. Bits of Cinderella, Aurora, Giselle and Buttercup.

Still life of some tools of the trade for a dark wizard. When doing a simple composition with just a few objects, I really try to push the textural component as far as I can to give character and history to these things.

Who’s nerdier, me or Mom?
Kid: You.
Me: But mom knits herself leg warmers while pointing out costume inaccuracies in period dramas.
Kid: You draw princesses all day.
Me: Hey, yesterday I drew gnomes and wizards.
Kid: Not helping.
Anyway, here’s a quick princess drawing.

Pretty happy with where this warrior princess is headed in this “quick” sketch. Aka 45 minutes of drafting and planning and posing to get a good foundation for a finished piece later.

The Black Cauldron, Saruman, and especially the wizards from Patricia Wrede’s Enchanted Forest Chronicles were the inspiration for this crusty old Magus and the creepy homunculus he’s summoning. Another illustration for the next fairy tale role playing adventure for Perils & Princesses.

Drinking these THC beverages while drawing sick wizards feels like I’m participating in a grand tradition.

Trying to loosen up with some wolfy illustrations. I love drawing scratchy messy fur on wild beasts, and the contrast with the clean shapes and lines of their legs and tails. I figure the wolf faction gets a paw print coat of arms as well.

My 5 year old keeps making me little monsters and characters she’s created using the how to draw zines @jpcoovert.bsky.social gave me, and I’m SO PROUD OF HER. 🥲

Illustrated a haughty forest spirit emerging from the wood for the upcoming Perils & Princesses TTRPG adventure “The Princess and the Dragon” by @dhowl37.bsky.social I really love drawing twisting trees and twigs and letting the light come in and catch all those edges.

Practicing drawing dragons for the next Perils & Princesses TTRPG adventure, and I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out. I have to admit: drawing dragons is so hard for me. Four legs, plus wings is just too many appendages!

Don’t mind me. I was just busy thinking back to the year 2002 when General Mills released Star Wars Episode 2 cereal, a surprisingly simple yet extremely delicious mix of Kix and Star Wars shaped Lucky Charms marshmallows.

Been filling a page with Gnomes doing various activities as my drawing warmup these days. I could imagine a combination between Rien Poortvliet, and Richard Scarry, with all the gnome folks doing their different jobs.

It doesn’t get mentioned as a Halloween movie very often, but Men In Black is an annual October viewing for me, and it holds up really well. “Edgar, your skin’s hangin’ off your bones.”

Practicing drawing mouse adventurers. There’s so many design decisions involved when making these little guys. Opting for a Jill Barklem Brambly Hedge style with little eyes and noses and soft edges, rather than a Bluth animated style.

And a special thanks to @thisisvictor.bsky.social for helping me realize I’ve actually been making a Mausritter adventure this whole time and didn’t know it.

Designing this Cheese Dungeon for #mörktober is giving me something to hyperfixate on which is nice.

Happy Friday.Im currently drawing cosmic horror cheese monsters as a coping mechanism for the real horrors.

Cheese dungeon is starting to take shape. Usually I try and ground my location designs in real spaces but cheese dungeon begs to be gonzo, so going through every single room and trying to make it more weird. Is definitely a fun challenge.

This 1982 “Riddle of the Ring” board game looks really vibey and the rules seem fun. Going to have to give it a try soon.

I have important work to get done but all I can think about is Cheese Dungeon.
