True in cities all over Europe and North America. True in Finland. Let's do it here.
The latest evaluation of bike lane projects in Boston continues to show that if you build bike infrastructure, people will use it.

So it's Monday, 11/24. Quam has a website with nothing on it. Luger-Nikolai has none, and not much lit to drop. Fraser seems to have the jump, as does Hill for the regressives (anti-progessives).

For the the 64A special election, I've been getting calls from candidates. Beth Fraser knocked on my door and I liked her. Only candidate with a website, and she put some detail on it. Luger-Nikolai needs to get up to speed. Quam's website goes live Monday. I am undecided.

Hey twin cities friends!

There’s a new website for the Mn Rapid Response network, now called Monarca.

It has the hotline to call if you see 🧊 activity as well as Know Your Rights information and lists upcoming community trainings.

A great resource. Please share widely!

Beth is running for Kaohly Her's vacated seat. Her website, BethFraserFor64A.com has some detail and is worth a look. I'm intrigued that she favors allowing cities to create Land Value Tax districts.

Neighbor had surgery so we've been walking his chihuahua. He's clever and knows the neighborhood, leads us on a different journey each day: north and around the block, south around that block, west around the school.

More of us are going to feel the burn.
Amazing how racist goon squads can wake people up to danger, but it's unfortunate that everyone had to touch the hot stove to find out it was hot
In the recent New Jersey governor’s race, the Democratic Party clawed back much of the ground it had lost with Hispanic voters in the 2024 presidential race, according to a township-level analysis of results by The New York Times. See the maps.

Vance characterizes opposition to Nazism as "infighting."
I think this is definitely the correct reading.
doing a Straussian reading of this post, especially point 3, and it's fairly obvious that Vance is aligned with the Tucker Carlson-wing of the GOP and thinks further right groups should be part of the tent, but won't outright break with Trump's I/P policy while he's still VP

Baby-talk of the mandarins.
emailing in a semi-literate manner isn’t a sign of stupidity, it’s another form of rich asshole arrogance because you don’t think you owe anyone coherent thoughts

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

This breaks some people’s brains.

In most cities, Costco stores fuel sprawl & car dependency.

In Vancouver, our full-sized downtown Costco has residential towers above & a skytrain station next door. LOTS of customers don’t drive to it.

We live a block from it. We call it “the convenience store.”
