Author’s note: What’s important to remember is, the terrible concert is not Aretha’s fault. It’s the fault of the shitty scumbag chosen to arrange it. Maybe instead of bashing Quincy Jones and Aretha, Clive Davis should listen to what the audience requests, lest he fall ill as Yoko did.

That’s what Clive’s crew is really doing. It was never about Aretha or the concert. It’s about propping up Yoko, turning her into a martyr, and threatening to wreck other shows—so the whole music scene revolves around their noise.

And even though Quincy wasn’t picked to run the concert, every time something went wrong—the lights, the venue, the sound—people blamed him. Not Clive, the guy actually in charge.

And not only did they falsely accuse Chaka of poisoning Yoko—they also threatened to show up at other concerts and vandalize them. The goal isn’t truth or music. It’s intimidation, chaos, and keeping the spotlight on Yoko.

When Yoko feels better, Clive’s crew says “The show must go on— we gotta come together. For Aretha.”

But it’s never been about Aretha. It’s about forcing Yoko and her people into the spotlight, no matter how little anyone else cares.

Clive loves working with Yoko Ono. Everyone hates Yoko Ono. And she hates everyone back. In fact, she spends all of her time screaming about how she doesn’t like you. But then she demands that you should convince her to like you. You don’t care—you just want the music.
