Textbooks tend to describe autism negatively, which is NOT GREAT as these books "often play a large part in shaping the perspectives & knowledge of future educators & practitioners." Time to re-evaluate such materials & create more inclusive, supportive environments.

Behaviour management practice is adult behaviour towards children. We've been taught to ignore children's distress, to ignore their feelings, not to help them when they are having a hard time, so we won't reinforce behaviour that is inconvenient to adults.
