I recently digitised some old audio tape recordings my dad made. Here is a clip from Christmas 1974 with my reaction to my new train set. What I find particularly uncanny is that I sound *exactly* like my 7yo does now; he laughs exactly the same way when he is surprised and excited. 🥰

I don’t find it very fine nor super flexible tbh, but I heard it might become softer over time. I would say it’s not massively different to my other (‘non-flex’) pens though the ink flow is on the heavier side. It feels terrific on the page. I love it (already) but ymmv.

A Taste of Aggro by the Barron Knights. Purchased from Woolworths New Milton in 1978, during a visit to my Nanna. I had heard it played by Ed Stewpot Stewart on Junior Choice and thought it was hilariously funny. I later swapped it for my friend Barry’s copy of Mull of Kintyre.

Only once been to Jamaica, on the south coast precisely where #HurricaneMelissa is making landfall, and it’s terrifying to think what is happening to those communities.

capitalism has brought us to the edge of planetary extinction, but in its defence it has also brought us truffle marmite and that does make up for quite a lot

Of all the thousands of kilometres of copy written about Brexit, this is probably the neatest encapsulation I’ve seen of why it happened.

‘…what Cameron was actually doing was giving the British public a fuck-you button, and asking: "Do you want to press it?"’

Well I would have put money on neither of the kids deriving much enjoyment from a home defeat for the local lower league side on a cold and wet Tuesday night in October but somehow they both really did which warms the cockles of my heart if I’m honest ⚽️

We are connected, BIL is a vicar and the chairman is one of his parishioners, so we got to taste the decadent luxury of the Chesham Directors’ Box. However said chairman did not take it well when he saw my VfB scarf, he muttered something about not mentioning the war. 🙄
