In a recent podcast interview, Tom Homan was asked to propose some success metrics. The measurable ones were:
1.) Reduce border crossings to the lowest they’ve been in 45 years.
2.) Bring back Remain in Mexico
3.) Find the “300,000 missing children.”

What's the likelihood of these, I wonder?

In his blog post on the topic, @austinkocher.com suggests that the time spent in the U.S. explains why ICE arrests have such a higher rate of convicted criminals. I'm not knocking the logic behind this, but isn't there also a great deal of filtering happening in the way ICE arrests people?

Metaculus seems to think that the average deportation numbers will be essentially "business as usual" during the Trump administration. Yes, 300k a year would be an increase, but nothing like the mass deportation promised by Trump and his followers.
