Yeah, the Navalny people especially were always suspect - but that's not really surprising, considering how fundamentally nationalist they always were. They still see Putin's mercenary killers of Ukrainians as "our boys" first and foremost, and therefore always more important than Ukrainian lives.

Ukrainian military victory against Russia) - and then went completely feral about Palestinians and were fundraising for the IDF within barely a week of October 7th.

At which point I just had it with them and no longer see any Russian public figures or Liberals as worth listening to, at all.

This was my last straw with giving any grace to "good" Russians, to be honest - especially paired with the fact that they tiptoed around humanitarian concerns with Ukraine (e.g. only supported children's charities based in Lithuania or something, but never fundraised for ZSU or expressed support for

Same, but I've seen screenshots. It's ugly. Especially considering how flagrantly unlawful that real-world killing is (re: boats off Venezuela, for example).

The real question is why government official accounts are also being allowed to get away with doing exactly that (except more openly and actually following through).

Look, I'm not an SK fanboy by any means - I've never paid for her work and occasionally disagree with her conclusions. But to call her a grifter, really? What's the grift? Her style of journalism is well-established, especially in American essay-writing. So... what's all this about?
Gender mayhaps?

You don't have to like her work or agree with her, but consider for a moment what you look like saying this about a writer/journalist deplatformed at a time a story related to her area of specialization was breaking, and how telling a woman to shut up in public reflects on your own credibility.

"histrionic" at a woman journalist being deplatformed - you done yet? That's low for you. This misogynistic dogpile among certain accounts I've been watching is the "histrionic" thing that needs to stop. You're being fucking assholes, and should be ashamed.

At this point, the whole site might need to go in the woodchipper feet first (as the post Patton got suspended for very appropriately said).

I know this is taking it way too literally, but the Wehrmacht still gets way too much mileage out of the bad old "German efficiency" trope. Contrary to popular perceptions, their record-keeping was actually far from immaculate or even particularly good, and was always full of all sorts of holes.
