For me what is truly astonishing is the failure of US to contain the corruption of the Trump family. So if Trump&gang reach an agreement with Russia recognizing occupied territories as Russian, all the other US institutions, Congress, State Dept, electorate etc just fall in line in full submission?

I am interested about what the PM of Belgium does and about what von der Leyen, Merz or Macron could do. Of course many may lobby, but politicians are responsible to citizens first of all. Euroclear is not Belgian, it is EU's.
The Belgians cannot take only the benefits - taxes - but shy away from all risks of hosting a EU institution.
If Belgium cannot act in EU interest with regards to Euroclear, Euroclear must be moved immediately to a country which will - Germany or France.

I would say that sanctions on Russia should be lifted only once Russia destroys its entire nuclear military capabilities.

Just a few corrections. I don't expect price increases in Ro even by shutting down a refinery with a small share of the market & 40 mn EUR turnover. On Md, my point was we need to make sure Ro helps in case of a shortage there. 1/

In addition, its infrastructure is crumbling. You cannot hold together a country this large and diverse without infrastructure allowing the center to project power over the entire territory. More likely it will start slowly disintegrating, East becoming more integrated with China etc
