I'd called it "relatively faithful" - but my instinctive benchmark is the Cushing/Lee.

I'm not saying it was perfect (I could have done without the tedious daddy issues), but I must be taking the Branagh 90s version as my benchmark for 'prestige' adaptations. Compared to that, it's two thumbs up from me.

aye, it's a leisurely take - almost twice the length of the Cushing/Lee. Much less of a drag than the Eggars Nosferatu, though.
