There's more to explore here.
And Dunjungle, also a roguelike (in Dead Cells style), and just as happened with DC when I tried it, the same has happen to me with this new one. I like 2D platformers and I like roguelikes, but apparently not so much 2D roguelikes. A couple of hours with several runs are enough for me.

While I'm playing Metroid Prime 4 (enyoying it a lot so far), I wanted to combine it with a couple of recent roguelikes. The first is Cloverpit, which I just unlocked the secret ending for, and lthough it's not as good as Balatro, it still has its charm and is addictive as well.

My intention with Age of Imprisonment was to enjoy the lore and just get through the "Musou". I more than achieved the 1st (more so at the beginning than middle and end), but the 2nd pleasantly surprised me, so that I want to complete it 100%, as the combat is truly dynamic and rewarding.

Well, another MV finished in two afternoons. Constance doesn't aim to be the new HK or revolutionize the genre. It's simple, with a small but well‑built map and solid combat and exploration. The mental health message isn't as impactful as in other titles, but it works and remains important.

Well, that's how my GOTY would be:

A couple of years ago, I played Before Your Eyes, one of the most impactful experiences I've ever had with games, so I couldn't pass up Goodnight Universe. It's more fantastic and interactive than the impact and drama offered by the first one, but it also has soul, and I did cry at the end.

Wow...all I can say is that I hope there are more seasons because this is a true work of art and totally revolutionary in its genre. A rollercoaster of emotions, the dynamics of ‘dispatching’ have left me wanting much more, the art is flawless, the cast is wonderful, etc. And there's Beef.

Finally, after so many years, I can play Super Mario Galaxy 2. I beat the first one on the Wii, but I couldn't do it with the sequel. Of course now I want to get 100% completion, because it deserves it. Amusing, original, soulful, creative, delightful. A legendary game by merit.

I'm not much into survival horrors, but I wanted to try one of the most acclaimed in recent years. And boy I got hooked. Signalis is superb; its haunting atmosphere and pixelated suspense pull you in. Combat is rough, but part of its charm. I didn’t understand it, but I loved the narrative.

These thoughts
That pierce straight to your heart
It makes you feel a certain way
And wonder if the future will ever last
But everything is based on the past
And doesn't ever lie
When all that has changed...
Are we still lost?

I finish the Little Nightmares saga with the 3rd installment. I knew about the mixed reviews and... I get it. It feels more like an “LN-inspired game” than a true sequel. I don’t mind the spin-off approach, but it lacks polish and impact. It has potential, but doesn’t fully come together.

Continuing the Little Nightmares saga, the sequel is a clear leap in terms of visual atmosphere and level of detail, making it even richer and more tense. It still stumbles at times, but continues to work very well as a short, fully immersive "nightmare". The overarching story is alluring.

Hades II (epilogue completed, not 100%) is objectively more and better than the original, yet it hasn't impacted me as much. I think that's mostly due to the narrative, both overall and per character. It has magical moments, but doesn't shine as brightly as the 1st. Still, it's terrific.

With the launch of the 3rd and taking advantage of the season, it was time to play the Little Nightmares saga. The first one (DLC included) is a good introduction, and I'd highlight, of course, the atmosphere. I found some of the stealth sections a bit clunky and improveable.

And yes...SILKSONG. A masterpiece in every sense, the 7 years of dev were very well worth it. Pharloom and its inhabitants captivated me like Hallownest did, and Hornet completely won me over. The map is magical, the bosses are spectacular, and the artwork is among the best I've ever seen.

And finally, let's talk about the two Metroidvania games I've played. I started Ender Lilies and wasn't really enjoying it, so I decided to skip straight to the sequel, Ender Magnolia. And this one I did enjoy. The map, the combat, the music, the artstyle, the side quests... great great MV.

One of the games I was most looking forward to in 2025 was Sword of the Sea. Journey is one of my all-time favorites, and anything from Giant Squid is welcome. That doesn't mean everything matches Journey, and this new one proves it. A gorgeous audiovisual experience, but less in gameplay.

Apart from Blue Prince and Hades 2 (working on it), the best roguelike I've played this year is Inscryption. I didn't have much faith in it since I don't usually like deckbuilders, but it's very good. Especially Act 1, as Acts 2 and 3 have ups and downs, except the ending, which is great.

Now it's the turn of roguelikes. Magicraft is the closest thing I've played to TBoI since I started with TBoI. I really like the spell and wand hierarchy system and how you can mold it to your liking. Like in TBoI, creating crazy builds is incredibly satisfying.

Speaking of platforms... DK Bananza is an ideal starting point for the S2, showcasing both its visual potential and the possibilities it offers. I can't remember a game in which exploration and collecting are so much fun. The OST is great, the DK&Pauline duo rocks, and the ending...damn!

But in this category, one game from this year takes the cake. Öoo has a strange premise, but it makes the most of it and, in my opinion, makes it one of the most recommendable games of 2025, especially if you like the combination of puzzles + platforms + some kind of mv.

I've played several puzzle games, such as various OW mods (several from Jam 5, my fav being Cosmic Curators). Also Poco, an ingenious and soulful P&C; Is This Seat Taken?, which is curious but goes a bit downhill as it goes; and Oscuro's Blossom Glow, short, visually pleasing, and with nice puzzles.

"Beyond fate." And the next game I played was Stellar Blade. Addictive and varied combat with some excellent bosses, well-done exploration, memorable setting and story with secondary characters and questlines that are worth delving into, and a godly soundtrack. All very good overall.

These days I've been playing Star of Providence runs on and off, until reaching the credits. It's one of those games I'll keep on my list to play now and then, because it's quite entertaining. Maybe I'd give it more variety in all aspects—crazy TBoI-like synergies, more levels, etc.

The Midnight Walk stands out for its nice stop-motion art, immersive atmosphere and top-notch voice acting. Although the gameplay and story fall short in some aspects -with technical and pacing issues, especially towards the end-, I appreciated this audiovisually captivating experience.
