Who is the target of the IDF? If a cease fire started in Gaza today, it is estimated that 8 to 10K civilians would still die because of the IDF’s systematic destruction of hospitals. Accepting the (likely low) IDF estimate of 66% civilian casualties, the IDF has taken out about 12K Hamas fighters.

Land Acknowledgement Statements (LAS): I appreciate the idea, but most people doing them are just trying to feel better themselves. They don’t really intend to try to help correct the wrongs done to the natives displaced or killed by colonists. So their LAS become the epitome of white privilege

Joking aside, I do find truth in Kierkegaard’s quote on regret. No matter what we chose, there will be some degree of regret about our choice. Accepting that means we have stopped to look for perfection and we can start truly enjoying life
