The people calling Zack Polanski’s proposals “La La Land Economics” are not only plainly reductive and dismissive, they’ve effectively hidden behind their ‘economics experts’ title whilst simultaneously being the people who’ve been in charge of the UK economy for the past 15 years.

One thing that’s become blindingly obvious over the past year is that the right have no ideas whatsoever. All of the recent solid ideas have come from the left (and let’s say a few from the centre). This is why the right just can’t deliver on anything once in office and end up floundering.

very irritating whenever anyone acts like a relative handful of incel nazi internet dwellers are representative of an entire generation. in reality when that generation see a more left-wing option on offer they flock to it
The Greens are winning the support of around half of 18 to 24 year olds.

Reform are on 5%. So much for young people's turn to the right!

And the Young Greens now have 40,000 members - the biggest youth and students wing in British politics

Wes Streeting says striking NHS staff are “holding patients to ransom”.

Wrong! He’s the one holding patients and the NHS to ransom, by refusing to give doctors the pay and jobs they deserve.

To all our dedicated healthcare workers: thank you for all you do. Solidarity!

This book was recommended to me by Michael Thrower Chowdhury on twitter. I’m currently working my way through the earlier chapters and it’s proving to be an excellent read. Would recommend so far :)

Here are 4 books I read this year I’d highly recommend.

I met Cahal Moran in the bar I work at before buying his book. Needless to say he was very nice and more than happy to engage in a conversation about his videos and broader politics. And I’m not ashamed to recommend Ha-Joon Chang :)

@pscupdates.bsky.social Statement following the indication from the Metropolitan Police that they will restrict protesters from marching from the BBC to Whitehall on the planned 18/01/2025 march for Palestine.

We will not accept this very real assault on our civil liberties. #WeWillMarch

Reform UK has done nothing but grown in popularity under Starmer’s ‘muscular social democracy’. If defeating the right is a key concern of Starmer’s Labour, why has it uncritically pandered to so many right-wing talking points Paul?

It’s just so remarkable how inefficient Labour are at handling their optics. Amongst many other reasons, their unpopularity has consistently boiled down to a lack of satisfaction that they serve the interests of the majority of Britons, despite being a self-appointed “party of the working people”.
❗️ NEW: Labour approval hits all-time low (-41)

✅ Approve 18% (-4)
❌ Disapprove 59% (+1)

I feel this may be an unpopular opinion of mine, and I’m also definitely biased given it’s my favourite film, but I don’t think 28 Days Later’s story should have a sequel. Both of the film’s potential endings (I think only a few people will know what I’m talking about) were pretty perfect.

Are you organising for next week's Workplace Day of Action for Palestine? We need it to be the biggest yet.

From lunchtime walkouts, to simply wearing a badge, there are lots of actions to get your colleagues involved. Here's the TUC's suggestions 🔽

On the 28/05/2024, I released the Fine Cut to my student horror film ‘TEETH’. While the film is yet to be finalised for festivals, I feel I can say this film was an incredibly surreal experience to write.
