Well, I guessed Borrowdale by the ferns. I've never walked Rosthwaite to Dale Head Tarn, so I'll guess Dock. Plenty rocky round there.

Last time at that tarn, a year & a half back, I met an American couple, middle-aged, educated, clearly affluent, relaxing there. The lady expressed her love of that location, & I pointed to Pillar, where I'd been two days earlier. They knew none of the names. They just loved that spot. Good choice.

One of the delights of walking the Wainwrights is gaining The Knowledge of so many places from so many directions and being able to place yourself wherever on demand. This is one. I can almost smell it. I can certainly feel the rock beneath my feet.
