Companion & housemate to an elderly & sometimes grumpy but gorgeous black cat who knows his worth. Love Ireland, France & occasion cooking.
Mixed feelings about sending Christmas cards since my mother died some years ago so haven’t bothered. Not feeling Christmassy this year until this afternoon while submerged in wrapping paper, bows & gift tags. Happiness! Maybe writing cards in early December next year might do the trick sooner!

#EastEnders NO. Nope. Nonsense. There’s gonna need to be several more, not to mention better layers to this drivel before it’s worthy of a mid summer story, never mind a Christmas reveal

Unknowns from Belgium cropping up today too. Relentless atm.
Public service announcement to anyone in the UK trying to phone people in Ireland. Chances are that, unless you are a ‘contact’, you won’t get through. We’re being bombarded by spam calls from 0044 numbers atm, & so most of us are not answering unknown UK numbers.

Not my real birth date but what happens since yesterday when I try to look @support.bsky.team on my iPad. Happens also with my actual date but didn’t want to share that. Everything is fine on my phone so far.

Does Sharon’s quick / unexpected exit help explain EastEnders meandering Zoe plot? Has it been directionless because there’s been zero tension between the two & writers, editors have been struggling to catch up? Things have certainly been pacier in the last week. Happier about Christmas now

Great start! #LateLateToyShow

Is that a faint glimmer of hope on the horizon? #EastEnders

I’ve no siblings. Family stories begin with “my”. There’s irregular contact with my cousins, scattered all over the world. Last night one of them telephoned me & we had conversations where I got to say “our grandparents” or “our aunt’ & it was joyful. Didn’t know I wanted that inclusion at my age.

How very sad. His wit, wisdom & guidance in his shows, which as a family we watched & enjoyed will be missed. I didn’t know Hugh personally but I felt I nearly did. Condolences to his husband & all who mourn his passing.

Happy First of December! This is one of my favourite Christmas songs & I could hardly wait until December to start playing it.

I look forward to these posts with a mix of trepidation, hope then joy. Niall should get plaudits, awards & anything Tina’s Hospital needs, not just because of Stormzy but for all the other dogs he’s helped & helping & the inspiring nature of his & the doggies’ stories.
He had brain damage and was told he had to be put to sleep.

Today I took Stormzy to run on the beach.

I promise this will set you up for the weekend ❤️

I miss Facebook & Twitter. There. I’ve said it.

Not saying it’s cold this evening but the Older Feline Gentleman has his nose a hairs breadth away from the piping hot radiator.

Love sunny wintry days anyway but they’re even nicer with solar panels: bed linen washed, tumble dried & back on the bed. Batch cooking veg soup in the soup maker & about to put two loaves in the oven. Only cost is time & ingredients.

Years ago I dreamt I’d messed up my final year in #UL by avoiding lectures, assignments & exams. The guilt, feelings of stupidity & anxiety were ott. Occasionally, the dream pops into my mind with such realism, I feel a need to double check my parchment. I never dream about the #LeavingCert

Wet, windy weekend. Staying home. Ideal Christmas decorating day. Need to be #LateLateToyShow ready!

OH & I chatting about ideal next home should we decide to move in our later years. Minimum criteria: two bed, two bath apartment, not ground floor but with it’s own private outdoor space. Best we found, in an almost suitable area is asking €950,000. And they want older people to free up family homes

Bit of a muting spree this morning. Lots of accounts filling my feed with detailed spoilers for EastEnders etc when the shows won’t even be on tv for hours & also, certain SLs haven’t even begun yet. What’s the point of watching if you already know what’s going to happen?
November 11, 2025 at 10:41 AM
Being slowly tempted back to X. Haven’t posted there in a few years but do still look from time to time as a lot of organisations & businesses that interest me are there. Fewer on Bluesky so far. Today’s temptation is the National Archive & EastEnders.
November 6, 2025 at 2:08 PM
I was happy enough for Wadey to have a settling in period & maybe attempt some storylines at different angles but Eastenders is losing its edge. It just isn’t pacy enough. With all the spoilers, leaks & the 6am iplayer release info being posted everywhere, it’s becoming pointless watching an episode
November 4, 2025 at 2:45 PM
So, I read Wadey indicated that Dermot wasn’t going to feature in EastEnders despite Zoe’s return. However, he was psychotic much like Pointless Anthony thinks Zoe is now so what if he has indeed arrived in Walford to terrorise Zoe in a jealous rage? Her supposed shooter shares a surname with Dermot

I look forward to watching Eastenders atm to see if it improves. Zoe is interesting only because of Kat for example & less so due to weeks & weeks of dilly dallying. Do Linda, Phil, Sharon, Cindy or Kathy return to try to save Christmas? The Knights, remaining Carters & Mitchells are just not enough
October 29, 2025 at 12:46 AM
Eastenders needs to bottle Kat, Tommy & Zoe & sprinkle some on a few of the other characters. Oki, Harry & Gina are beyond interest. Johnny & E-laine are ridiculously written as relations. Jasmine needs to get a wriggle on. Where’s Sharon? Nicola? Even Cindy. At this rate Christmas will be a washout
