At yesterday's #NGTs trilogue a provisional deal has been reached that carries major shortcomings. Missing safeguards on patents & traceability put EU food sovereignty at risk. #OrganicEU calls on Parliament to fix this agreement.

Despite these hurdles, interest is growing. In France alone, 30-50% of future farmers have an organic project. Organic farming is proving a major driver of innovation, generational renewal & sustainable agrifood systems.

We welcome the EU #Bioeconomy Strategy and its commitment to shift toward sustainable, bio-based materials. But to fully meet EU environmental objectives it must recognise organic & agroecological farming as the most sustainable way to produce them.
