Mindfully navigating life and it's challenges. Listening to myself and those who support me along the way. Technically adept without losing sight of what's real: Those around me IRL and authentic social connections.

Another poem I wrote a while ago. It’s about slowing down, taking a moment to enjoy the company of others. Also, finding a spark of joy or glimmer of inspiration in day to day everyday life.

Just got back from a walk listening to the audiobook version. Loving it! Well written and spoken. 70% through Truth and Beauty chapter as I was enjoying the outdoors looking up at the sky and clouds reflecting on the cosmic perspective. A breath of much needed fresh air.
My life’s wisdom. Inspired by & dedicated to the memory of my father, Cyril DeGrasse Tyson - Civil Rights era sociologist.

It's what conflicts & disagreements among us look like when you’re scientifically literate — sprinkled with a dose of Cosmic Perspective.

Invisible threads stretch from soul to soul, woven through time, memory and starlight. Even in solitude, we are many - mirrors of each other, fragments of a single luminous whole. Reaching for the stars means reaching for each other, a longing not for distance, but for reunion.

I love this. Wise and profound.
In an age where man chases everything he thinks he needs, the tree offers us a quiet contrast: a lesson in patience, adaptation and a deep connection to the earth. No eyes, no steps, no words, but with extraordinary biological clarity, the tree knows where to go and how.

what if you responded with curiosity instead of defensiveness?

This is good advice. I would add to practice using “wise-mind” as well, taken from the psychology DBT world.

Silence is the most underrated communication skill you can use. The silence in a pause may be the absence of words, but it’s not the absence of communication.

What a masterpiece! PSA to all human artists: Please don’t stop. It’s worth more than ever and is and always will be cherished by me and I’m sure many others.

In moments of silence, behind the smiles we show the world, there is often a struggle hidden that no one sees. We all have our struggles, our burdens that we carry, often without saying a word about them. We should remember this in our dealings with each other. Be kind!

A fresh start is the acceptance of a past we cannot change, the unrelenting conviction that the future can be different, and the stubborn wisdom to use the past to make the future what the past was not

There's also the old trick about words having the right first and last letter but every other letter in them jumbled up, but brains being able to clearly understand what's being written regardless.
