Messier 5. Ignore the light pollution gradient, I was basically shooting into the city. I think the hook on the left is from light reflections amplified by the flat correction. Really happy with how the flats cleaned up the vignetting. 26x90sec lum

Definitely worth it to go out to a darker sky location for these. Next steps will definitely be to include darks and flats in the processing workflow.

Medusa Nebula! 40 minutes of h-alpha, still zero processing other than stacking

9x30sec of h-alpha on Orion. Not bad for 0 calibration and fighting with Chicago light pollution. Slowly getting the hang of the setup

Mucking about with some asteroid detection. Hoping that some of the darker points turn out to be more than hot pixels

Apollo 12 on the left, my render on the right

Aha, and now we can load multiple DEMs at different resolutions. It only took a rewrite of the mesh generation into C++, but at least it's much faster and significantly less resource intensive now!

Left: Apollo 11. Right: My render. My only outstanding tasks for this project are to source a higher resolution DEM (this one is 128 ppd), and see if higher resolution orthoimagery improves the final render.

Playing around with lunar environments in Blender. On the left is my render, on the right is an actual photo from Apollo 12

Biblically accurate road intersection

Featuring minimal processing other than dark subtraction, my first time shooting the Lagoon Nebula went very well. 45 minutes of integration time, and if it's clear again in the next few days I'll try again at a higher ISO+integration time

Ok, agent. Go to your browser and type 'bsky.app'. If Google asks "Did you mean 'Mr Beast App'?", IGNORE IT

Current mood: This low-exposure crop of a render from work. I think it could also make a good album cover
