Bill: give $1000b to Israel
Amendment to bill: give $999b to Israel instead

Trolls if AOC votes for the amendment: she voted to give $999b to Israel!
Trolls if AOC votes against it: she voted against cutting a $1b from Israel!

If you're against genocide of Palestinians, don't sabotage ourselves

so you don't think Israeli troll farms, which have admitted to trying to undermine pro-Palestinian politicians on social media, would have anything to do with using social media to undermine AOC, who is pro-Palestine?

the number of missiles the bill amendment would have defunded: 0

what does this have to do with people on social media exploding in anger at AOC for voting No on an amendment to a bill that would've saved zero Palestinian lives, on a bill that she also voted No on overall?

It's been well known for over a decade that most of the extremely rage-baity comments on social media are from professional trollfarms. Their goal is to "both sides" everything so Democrats don't show up to vote

"Ross Perot didn't run for office in 1992"? Are you sure about that? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_Un...

Sure, that's agreeable. But suppose you could see a parallel universe where Ross Perot never ran for POTUS, and in 1992, George H.W. Bush was re-elected instead of losing to Bill Clinton. What word or phrase would you use to describe the effect Ross Perot had in this reality compared to that one?

Whether you believe they're "owed votes" is up to you, but that's what the phrase "spoiler candidate" means, yeah
June 6, 2025 at 4:49 PM
That's not what "spoiler candidate" means, it doesn't mean winning votes from the other side of the political spectrum. It's specifically a quality of FPTP ballots (and other non-ranked ballot forms) that happens when three or more candidates are running: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoiler...

Is he supporting Musk's party, or is he egging on Republicans to Ross Perot themselves into a landslide loss next election cycle? (I agree all billionaires are bad, fwiw)

We've basically reached the "it's not corruption unless it comes from the Pot-de-Vin region of France" stage, huh
May 12, 2025 at 6:40 PM
Exactly what I mean. Blue states run by Democrats are the ones safe for trans people and immigrants, but "both sides are the same" people are willfully ignoring that. Because having moral superiority on the Internet is a lot easier than actually standing for something.

"Both parties are the same" implies "Democrats protecting minorities is the same as Republicans dehumanizing them" which is just a roundabout way of not caring about minorities
