But people generally hand this stuff off because that is their belief and you aren't going to change it, they want you to change your beliefs, and a lot of the time, they aren't open to having a discussion.

Honestly? He has his mind already made up. If you can get through it, go for it. Give it back to him and say you don't see eye to eye on the matter and y'all are just gonna have to agree to disagree unless he really does want to understand why you don't agree.
