I really enjoyed recording this podcast, it was great to chat to Gregg about @openenergymon.bsky.social all the other fun stuff e.g heat pumps and EVs 😀

This was recorded at the @fullychargedshow.bsky.social Everything Electric show, which explains why I was losing my voice!

Studies that are already out of date by the time they get into circulation is part of them problem.

Live results from @openenergymon.bsky.social for real-world heat-pumps illustrate what is possible, right now:

Agree! To me I think we should all have @openenergymon.bsky.social, MCS should improve the minimum scop from 2.8 to 3.6 and then consumers should have better protection to get installers back to fix problems if they aren’t meeting these standards

Here's a video about an interesting ASHP installation I was involved with in a solid stone cottage, the combination of insulation, air tightness, UFH and MVHR has made for a very efficient low-cost heating system with a SCOP of 5.1 for space heating 😀 📈 youtu.be/YouOLThHSNk?...

This is part of a big electrification and decarbonisation project for the building to remove deoendancy on LPG, reduce running costs and increase energy security; this will involve 2x 16kW Viessmann ASHP cascade, 69kWh of GivEnergy storage, 30kW of PV and @openenergymon.bsky.social monitoring 😀
I've been helping out on a solar PV installation on our @Openenergymon shared office space, it will be a 30kW SolarEdge array! Today we fitted the rails and got the first couple of panels in place 😁
