I’m one who chooses daily to believe that people are good. But I’m telling you, people are really trying that belief these days… Aside from that, I’m an educator, a mom, and a plant aficionado who’s passionately living to make the world just a bit better.
It's amazing how a mediocre picture taker (purposely avoiding photographer) can get a lovely pic when water and sunsets are involved. Also, Door County is lovely year round, even if a lot shuts down in the colder months...

I struggled with hanging this ornament this year because it's just awful what he's done to our house. BUT, it's the everyday people like us who need to continue remembering what should be, what can be, and what needs to change to get there. I love this country and he doesn't get to ruin that...

When I have upwards of 14 reports of nearby activity at any given time, that’s far too much. It feels almost like an invasion…

This girl. She was spayed today. First, she tried to stay with the techs because they gave her so much attention that she had a lot of fun, then she was pulling excitedly before we even left the vet. Not sure exactly how the whole keeping her calm thing is going to go…

Oh my goodness, I started crying when I saw your picture. The pup looks exactly like my sidekick who I had to put down in February. For context…

If you live in the Chicago suburbs, do yourself a favor and eat/drink at #PhaseThree. And if you aren’t sure, the Day Drift shandies are definitely worth it.

Something to know about me (that I didn’t discover was weird or even an attribute until 16) is that I often speak in plural. Why? Because I have an identical twin. And tomorrow is our birthday. It’ll mark the last year of our 30s. She’s off in Alaska, so I miss her. So here’s my I love her post.

My 4th of July shirt. A year I can’t celebrate, but one I will recognize and participate in for other reasons because the day might be even more important…

This punk of a pup is growing so quickly. She’s curious and too smart for her own good. And in case someone sees this, I thought it was worth something positive today. Side note, if you want a very energetic dog, get a golden Irish setter…

This pup is special… As of today, she has also discovered that she can, in fact, do full flights of stairs and jump onto the couch…

She’s crazy and I love her after only two days. But I forgot the work of a young puppy! #dogsofbluesky

Brought a puppy home today. Was going to go with some sweet picture to show how cute they are at this age. Went with this one to show the chaos they immediately inject into any situation...

I’m here for the heavy stuff, but in case you need something lighter, we’re bringing this little potato home in just over two weeks! Still finalizing a name because getting everyone to agree is yikes…

On this International Women's Day, we marched. We marched straight to Chicago's Trump Tower. We marched for the rights they've taken from us, those they're still eyeing, and the ones they haven't yet thought to remove. We are all equals, and you shall treat us as such.

Today is our AFT Protect Our Kids Day of Action. We stand up "against assaults on public education and on opportunity for America's youth." This administration can't have the final say. As a member of IFT Local 604, we have to take a stand to #protectourkids because #unitedwearestronger

Putting your dog down truly feels like cutting out a piece of your heart. Best dog imaginable, even beyond my vivid imagination, for my life and my family for the last 14 years... Today has been painful beyond words.

I found out my dog is riddled with cancer. Her sweet spirit who was my partner into adulthood. Singleness, buying my home, marriage, two children. And now I have to do what's best for this gentle girl and what's killing me by saying goodbye. Everyone should have a Brindle sometime. If they're lucky.

So what (affordable) makeup brand is bringing back the Victory Red lipstick? Because I might not be a makeup person, but I could use some more small acts of defiance these days...

@pastortrey05.com I'm assuming this isn't you and you'd like to know it's on here so enough people can report and have it removed. Otherwise, I am woefully mistaken and misreported...

I see what you did here, Merriam. Now, I've got 365 days to work on my word. No test drives, let's just go. Here's to day 1, 2025!

Passing on the love and the history by wrapping this jersey for my 4. She keeps asking when it’ll be time for her Packers jersey, and this game seems a fitting setting to get this gift prepped for her. #gopackgo

Cancel your Hello Fresh subscriptions, PLEASE! Labor trafficking of Guatemalan teens. These children could literally go from my classroom to their warehouse. Not sure if I’m going to be sick or fly into a rage. Either way, I’m shouting this one from the rooftops. Take your business from them.

This old girl had her 14-year appointment and, as a responsible owner should, we discussed knowing when to know it’s time. His response? “You have a healthy dog who’s a mix, so even though she’s big, your goal might even be up to 17.” It felt great, but I now don’t know what to do with these hopes…

This old girl loves the warmth of the fire on this first snowy day of the year. She’s my good old girl and it’s just amazing how she simultaneously warms my spirit…
