I'm only using this device to play like, 3 games- all of them from the 360 era lol. However, if I can find a cheap copy, I'll give Gears 2 (& 3 onward) a go since only the first was on PC.

A lot of the trainers are next to crystals IIRC. Some do split up so I'm with you on having to check the map on which way to go.
But that's not too bad. I think the map system is horrible because the developers somehow neglect to filter available quests on the map and or a legend.

I remember not understand the map layout for Limsa because the map doesn't really explain floors or how it transition well.

And I loathe Gridania because so many quests have you go to the Apkallu Falls with no teleport next to it.

Don't get me wrong. I love the other features it has. Especially the track pads; however, I really am super hyped the Dpad is on top. It's the only reason why I use DS4 controllers on PC.
It's just a matter of great diagonals. XbxC is surprisingly king at this, but it's not on top and gets tiring.

However, I did learn about using a tracer wire to fix a board being damaged.
Sometimes it can also be something simple.
