That's been one of the unofficial uses of SF since the start of the GWOT at least and not just confined to the US, SAS units were reported to be engaging in similar behavior in Afghanistan. Win for the "fascism is colonial violence imported to the metropole" theory I guess.

hors de combat doesn't include people at a military site doing military things just because there's people injured lying around. Targeting a triage center from the victims of the strike 1 or an area with no military purpose is a crime but hitting the same area is not.

Yeah and it's not a war crime. If you can find the prohibition on shooting the same target twice in five minutes I'd love to see it.

In Iraq's case they were allowed to trade oil for food while Venezuela just didn't have anything to trade in the first place due to issues with their oil sector (and the bottom fell out on their economy in 2014, 5 years before any non-targeted sanctions).

Point of order there's no reasonable estimates that the sanctions on either country killed a lot of people. For one, neither sanctions applied to food or medicine.

I have a theory that Magneto's real power is to be able to do anything as long as his opponent thinks it's related to magnetism. Against normal people he can fire magnetism blast but Tony knows how magnets work and so when he shows up with a non-ferromagnetic suit Magneto is helpless.
