David Lynch taught me how to think, François Truffaut how to feel, and Gene Wilder how to be. Striving to be as cool as Bogart. Political Science master. Enjoys audiobooks about neuroscience while working out. Film writer
I ran out of everything food related so I aggressively planned my grocery shopping trip: made a meal plan, went to three stores, shopped all the deals; I was so excited after this trip that I wouldn’t have to go to step into a grocery store until next Saturday.

So, of course I forgot bread.

New Taylor Swift album to listen to today, new PTA to see in the ✨cinema✨ tomorrow, and I just made a smoothie with 67 grams of protein that was actually delicious. What a day.

I clearly wanted to spend a lot of time with Michael Douglas.

Every single morning for 4 months I asked my desk neighbor Diane, an enthusiastic tr*mp supporter if she had her covfefe yet today. For another 3.5 months I would ask her at random points through the day. She gave me the same scowl/eye roll combo every time and this exchange never got old to me.

I’m still deep into my impromptu remake project!

The theme this month was space films but then I started a remake project. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #Filmsky

I’m just asking, why couldn’t James Mason have played Joe in HERE COMES MR. JORDAN (1941) and then Mr. Jordan in HEAVEN CAN WAIT?

13 years ago, (!) Gabriel made me a mom. This past year wasn’t easy, but love and patience pulled us through. He’s the funniest, smartest, wittiest person I know—and my greatest teacher. Watching him grow is the honor of my life. Happy birthday to my artist, my jester, my first true love.

Happy 50th JAWS! A film that changed the game forever. To celebrate the monumental year, “I did a thing” as the kids said two years ago. I love this movie so much. #Jaws

Cleaned the house all day, did seven loads of laundry, then spent two hours over the stove making smothered chicken over rice, (my own gravy obvs) sautéd carrots and cabbage, and cornbread.

I got dressed for my first work thing since going on leave in January. Morning exchange with my 12-year-old son:

12: oOo ok, mom, I see you!
Me: yeah? I don’t look like a librarian?
12: no no, it’s giving cool principal that says “hi” in the hallway even if you’re not in trouble

Love this kid!

The theme this week was clearly “how much range does Hugh Grant possess?” #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #Filmsky

How many game 7s are we (Nuggets) going to play?! Less stress would be cool but I’m here for it!

Messy, disjointed week just trying to get back to daily film viewing and failing.

I realize now how many people think of me as their Catholic friend based on how many have reached out regarding my thoughts on the new Pope.

It’s been rainy and gloomy all day; the perfect mood has been set for a Sunday night noir.

I just got an email from my therapist that I’ve been working with for almost two years that they’re leaving the practice. I feel so sad and lost and I don’t know what to do.

I picked two of these movies and I didn’t pick the other two; care to guess which is which?

I know I’m not saying anything novel here but this film has the most engaging opening 30 minutes. I can see its influence on INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.

May the David Cronenberg kind of love find us all.

For someone who defines their life like Scorsese, 2025 taking David Lynch and the Pope has been a rough ride.
