A sweet but sassy tiger striped tabby cat with white socks and yoke is laying on a brown couch. There is a tv remote sticking out from under her. The look on her face suggests she is having a moment of attitude. This would be correct, as she is so peeved that her male human wouldn’t let her sit in his lap that she sought out the remote and laid down on it so he couldn’t find it. The only reason the remote can be seen in the pic is that the female human saw this all go down & attempted to retrieve the remote from under the cat. The female human received a furry slap on the hand as an indicator to ‘mind your own business’.

He had recently had surgery on his right hip so the thick, white fur on the entire back right quarter of his body was shaved, a ways over the left side of his spine and including the base of his tail. It was a precision shave job and the contrast between the rest of his white fluff and that swath of rosy pink skin is pretty funny-looking.

This is our #3 (now an only child ☹️) also a deep South native but was only 5 when we moved. Now that we have a fenced yard for him to explore of course it got hella cold, so he got a wee coat. 😁

My girls were born & raised in the deep South and were 20+ when we moved to just outside of Chicago. Those poor little ladies were SO COLD, I had to do something! 😄 Of course they were initially resistant but figured out how much it helped real quick.

This precious girl…she even piled the wrappers on dad’s keyboard so he couldn’t miss them. We couldn’t even be mad. 😆 She was such a junk food junkie; her favorite food in the world was sour cream & onion Pringles. Preferably with slurps of Pepsi. This 👇🏼 isn’t actually her but it could have been!

We had one who drank EVERYTHING & would go to my length to take her fair share of whatever we had. We ended up buying some of these tumblers, every drink hot or cold that came in or was poured in the house went into one, which finally defeated her. A junk food junkie until the end, adorable nut. 🥰

The happiest point of this week was discovering a new bird has come to live around our yard. This male Eastern Towhee joins about 9 other species I feed. I’m really burning through the feed this week with 10” of snow on the ground. In related news: blue jays are pushy little feathered pigs. 😄

Look. I know there are so many MUCH worse things happening everywhere, but I was in PetSmart this morning & we’re still doing this to Betas? I know they’re fish & not puppies or even chickens but this is so damn cruel. About half of the fish in this display were dead. Who does this benefit? WHY??
