obviously tips are still really appreciated!!! but honestly I get it, this piece, while the traffic is pretty good, is such a weird, experimental piece that I don't want you to feel you have to.

I stand by my belief that if you like my writing and can tip, it helps! But if you can't! don't worry!

Are we calling Pete a party leader now?

This is the only idea he or Newsom have - throw enough vulnerable people under the bus, and pray their constituencies aren't necessary for victory (they are, it's a bad idea)

Transparency and an actual PR team would work wonders, but with the selective nature of enforcement thus far I'm not sure I trust this team to admit they erred / needed help in the first place

NPR's Talk of the Nation had a weekly political segment and the introduction included the Dean Scream until the show ended in 2013.

But our Fourth Estate decided fucking kids is no big deal.
For four days tv news played Howard Dean screaming 633 times back in 2004!

I will never stop making this point: Republicans and Democrats both love the filibuster because it protects them from their base.

Either what their base wants are things that would get them voted out of office, or they want things that would anger their wealthy donors.
