This means that even if our database is stolen *and* our encryption keys are stolen too, the attacker will not be able to read information which identifies you.

For more info, including an explanation of exactly what data we collect, see our privacy policy page: onlyhumanhub.com/privacy

Congrats! Now you can use that passport to verify as a human with us 🙂

yes, but without the need to scan your eyes, seems preferable.

The data that passportreader.app holds isn't held for long (it's deleted after a few hours).

The data that we hold is hashed and encrypted, so even if our database was to be hacked or leaked in some way, nobody would be able to retrieve the original data.

What else would you suggest?
August 5, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Nope, because those are easy to fake.
August 5, 2025 at 7:12 PM
The only other way is to do iris scanning (that's what another company is doing). Other than that there is no other way.

What problem did you run into?
August 5, 2025 at 7:09 PM
It’s been more than 6 months now and that hasn’t happened.

Good reason for people to get a passport. Though other IDs should work too.

We didn’t just come out though. We’ve been around for a while.

Some governments perhaps. But not all.

Though if there is an opportunity to integrate these systems for some governments, we’d love to do it.

Actually, it is very different. Our app never sees your passport photo. The only data from your passport it stores is hashed and encrypted. So even if our database were to be stolen *and* our encryption key were to be stolen (very big ifs), it would not be possible to get that information back.

Hmm, how did you open the Iris ID app? It sounds like it wants you to scan the QR code that our site shows when you click the "Verify" button... but scanning that QR code using your phone camera should give you a link which auto opens the Iris ID app. Is that what you did?
July 22, 2025 at 6:11 PM
You should align it so that the full page is visible, in the same way as my specimen image above.
July 22, 2025 at 5:21 PM
You should see this screen and if you click the blue Start link your camera should open.

Then you just point the camera at that page of your passport. It should pick it up on its own if you align it right.
July 22, 2025 at 5:20 PM
It's supposed to scan this page (see below)
July 22, 2025 at 5:16 PM
What kind of ID are you scanning? Not all IDs are supported, but all passports should be. Here is the breakdown of what is supported on Iris ID.
