I should add that I spent hours and hours in courtrooms as a reporter in London and before that as a member of court staff in Leeds. These aren't rogue examples – this archaic way of treating people who even might be victims of serious offences is the norm.

Here's another example from a court report by Saman Javed at Hyphen, where a domestic abuse survivor is told by a barrister: "If he did assault you, you would have contacted the police." Repeating the trauma she'd already experienced. It's garbage.

The police should be all over expert witness fraud in family court cases. In our experience they are part of the human trafficking ring operating in the family courts.‬
