Took my blind dog up to Newcastle to meet my daughter at her uni flat and go for a walk. His excitement when he picked up her scent was almost enough to make me cry.

They look like pretty much every other pair I've had recently, cost a fortune because I have an unerring knack for picking out expensive frames plus I'm old and need varifocals and somehow they were already filthy within 10 minutes of me putting them on.

This, the Pioneering Spirit, is unbelievably huge.
That oil rig topside it's carrying is 40000 tonnes plus and it was a couple of miles offshore when I took that photo just on my phone.

Today I've been shopping with the girl for stuff for her uni flat, tomorrow the boy is off to Leeds festival with his mates.
Got them through childhood without breaking them and they've turned out to be good people - I think I can be quite proud of that.
Still makes me feel old though!
