@markwarner.bsky.social voted against the bill to block arms sales to Israel, which means he voted to arm the perpetrators of a genocide and, as his constituent, I’d love for him to use his big boy words and justify his vote publicly.

The anti-abortion movement in America has killed people with guns, bombs and laws. Yesterday, one of its members assassinated a Minnesota politician.

We must reject religious extremism and restore reproductive rights for all Americans.

So now that I’ve had my cackle over the parade, should someone speak to the fact that we’re as weak as we’ve been, geopolitically, in the last century (at least) and we just broadcast that disorganized, apathetic wreck to the global community?

A(nother) delightful thing about rallies: the signs. The time and care that people put into little public displays of art, when most probably don’t do that sort of thing on the reg, is enchanting.

“Operation Rising Lion” is exactly the mission name that a 5 year old would give you if you asked them why they’ve just run down the road in their underpants.

In the thick of discovering that sewing with black fabric and thread is not unlike knitting with black yarn.

I don’t even think this is possible (perhaps it’s just the hope of it all) but I started HRT (estrogen patch) for perimenopause brain squirrels last night and this AM I feel … more competent than I have in at least a year? Like I could … cope with shit, if required?

I spent 7+ years studying architectural history and have three degrees (2 masters) in historic preservation and architectural history. I <3 buildings.

I applaud the fire.

Why do Americans have to buy American-made cars if the President gets a foreign jet?

The way so many of Jesus’ supposed followers voluntarily put themselves as people who would’ve crucified Actual Jesus …

A thing I’d love to do someday:

Remove a bike pump nozzle from a presta valve without smashing my knuckle off some part of my bike.

Pitching a script for Final Destination 73. It’s just Jesus realizing that his reincarnation caused more problems than it solved.

Beginning to suspect that rebuilding my cardio base post-Covid + new, 2x weekly strength training + resuming regular weekly 20ish mile Monday ride (on the same day as lifting) + my regular running + Everything That’s Happening = maybe overdoing it a bit, per rapidly-aging meatsack.

I think it’s nice that we’ve come back around to the appropriate use of the Gadsden flag. So we got that going for us.

I have a sinus infection. We have run out of tissues, and the toilet paper cannot hang, so I am blowing my nose into Viva paper towels. This must be what royalty feels like. I hadn’t imagined there would be so much nostril chafing.

Sore throat?
Tea with honey!

Finished jar of honey?
NEW OVERFILLED JAR OF MEADOWFOAM HONEY!

Pour directly from jar into mug? Efficient!

Oh no. Oh no.

OhnononononowaitwaitstopnotoomuchTOOMUCH.

Mmm. Viscous.

I wish that Americans who’ve never committed a crime could all crawl out of their little cocoon and understand that you needn’t be a criminal to be shipped off to the Bukele/Trump labor camp. Abrego Garcia was literally a clerical error.

You could just as easily be a clerical error.

There are some matters of wrongheadedness that I will never let go of until the incorrect party fully accepts their wrongness. The supposed superiority of the speciman that is Stephen Miller is one of these. He is the worst possible example of literally everything.

I need someone to explain the inclination to cosplay WWII rationing, scarcity, etc. Because we absolutely did not have to do this to ourselves. I need someone who apparently *wants* this to explain it to me. Like I’m 6. Please.

Literally the only situation in which the words “Josh Hawley’s Manhood” could appear together, in that order, and interest me is a IBCK podcast.
This month’s bonus episode is about Senator Josh Hawley’s book “Manhood.”

Learn about masculinity from the dude who encouraged January 6th rioters and then fled in a full sprint when they entered the Capitol.

I never want to be the person shouting like a dork about BiG pHaRmA but honestly these blood pressure recommendations are getting sus. “Level 1 hypertension” for a 109/81 reading? How is anyone supposed to have diastolic pressure lower than 6,000,000 right now, anyway?

My Garmin: You are unproductive. You have a high aerobic shortage.

Me: *does hiit run*

My Garmin: Well now you’re strained.

This is such small potatoes compared to literally everything, but I ordered a new MINI (to take over for my 22 year old MINI). Now I’m playing 37 dimensional chess with how to proceed in light of pending import auto tariffs. Remember when you could buy a car every 2 decades without overmuch peril?

In the unenviable position of not particularly liking an indie book series I just started, but also having to pay for the remaining books because the library doesn’t have it and I need to know what happens.
