At least 50 people were injured in the latest Houthi drone attack in Eilat. While implications of exceedingly sophisticated Houthi tech are severe, I can't help but think of non-Houthis now holding breath in #Yemen for inevitable and harsh retaliation. www.trtworld.com/article/6fd4...

An engaging discussion @sipri on pathways out of the unfolding catastrophe. Ending the violence against civilians and meeting urgent needs are priorities; this requires more responsible international engagement, and more coherent & supported mediation to define a political roadmap.
Today at the Stockholm Forum organised by @sipri.org we hosted a discussion on the current situation in Sudan, moderated by our Executive Director @eipkeating.bsky.social, with Raga Makawi (LSE), Dr. Elshafie Ahmed (Fikra), and Ambassador Stijn Janssen (@netherlandsmfa.bsky.social)

Akram Al-Akhali, kidnapped and disappeared by Houthis for close to 10 months, has been released. Thanks to unrelenting efforts and Dutch diplomacy, he has safely arrived in Oman. UN and U.S. Embassy #Yemen colleagues are still in Houthi dungeons and their health is deteriorating.

Today is the International Day of Solidarity with Detained and Missing Staff Members. My friends and colleagues who worked for the U.S. State Department, the UN, and civil society organizations are still disappeared in Houthi prisons. Some have died, others are in a really bad shape. #SOS #Yemen

Just spoke to BBC News on the airstrikes targeted Houthis in #Yemen and want to reiterate that Houthis have own goals that go beyond Yemen's borders and we will likely see further escalation as they grandstand and dig heels into reckless adventurism.

"WFP employee Ahmed Ba‘Alawi, detained by Houthis, has died.." No, NO. He was kidnapped, disappeared, likely tortured, and was MURDERED. And so will tens of other colleagues while you use this ridiculously soft language that only further emboldens Houthi impunity and barbarism. #Yemen

More people were kidnapped by the Houthis, not just UN staff. Hostage taking and forcible disappearance is their go-to strategy to terrorize, punish, use as leverage, extract concessions and false confessions, and silence dissent. My 2 cents to DW. #Yemen
