It never bothered me once. It was just a video game sound like Link's sword swiping around or clanging on something. If there was no sound for Navi I guess people maybe would never have said anything.
Question for the class:
Was Navi really deserving of the hate she got, or did a generation of (mostly male) gamers just frame her as an annoying nag because they didn't like the idea of taking advice from a female-coded NPC who wasn't potentially going to sleep with the self-insert protagonist?
