Sometimes I post my paintings. All my paintings are Glazed with https://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/
I love the perspective. Interesting choice to make the sky a darker value than the buildings. Great colors, it really works.

I know this is a serious discussion, but this is a hilarious photo/caption combination.

I really like this motif. I did this one with a masking fluid pen instead of tape.

Watercolor and ink on 5"x7" hot press paper

This is great! Did you paint this from the Boston side facing Kendall square? Or from Cambridge facing Boston? Looks like from Boston facing Cambridge, right?

Phenomenal work. Really well done.

I really like how you cooled down the concrete compared to the photo to contrast with the warm colors.

Brilliant use of light and shadow. It reminds me of one of my favorite Edgar Payne paintings.

This is great. Love those colors, well done.

That is super cool. How did you do that? Did you mix the ink and watercolors together while wet?

Every artist needs a series they can fall back to when they don't have a subject calling out to them. Backup pigs.

This pig is the first painting on my new batch of panels. The panel held up great.

Oil on panel, 8x10".

Oh wow, that looks nearly identical to what I've been using except the tip of my pen is blunt. Cool.

Did you free-hand those straight lines? They look perfect.
November 6, 2025 at 5:44 AM
How did you get such a thin line?

I've been using a masking fluid pen recently, but it's thicker than a sharpie. Your preserved lines are razor thin.

This is great. Love the big shapes next to the thin lines.

Did you mask the white lines or use a white paint?

I've followed the PSC elections more than is normal over the last 15+ years, and I'm shocked at the numbers the winning PSC candidates pulled in their state-wide races. Congratulations @peterhubbardga.bsky.social

Looks awesome. Are the dark silhouettes ink or watercolor?

It's wild how you put down the colors in the sun in place with no blending. Every stroke is its own color, right value, in the right place, to create the glow.

Do you plan these sections out ahead of time? Or have you done this so many times that you just know what to do?
