I found out that a close friend from my teenage years passed away in January.
We lost touch in recent years but she was very important to me back when I was 17/18. She taught me a lot about life - both about hardship and having fun. Without her I would be a very different person. This is for her.

Claude Monet said "It took me time to understand my waterlilies. I had planted them for the pleasure of it; I grew them without ever thinking of painting them."
I don't grow them but I do think they are very pretty... and very paintable! Here's today's art.

Hello new people. Welcome. Something you may not know is that you can change a setting to remind you to add ALT TEXT to any pictures or screen shots that you post. I know that you may not need to use alt text to "see" the picture but other people, those with text readers etc, will find it useful.

It's funny where inspiration comes from. I was reading the weekly Sketchbook Skool email and a list of words in it, about "the essential truths of the world" really struck home.
