Norwegian movie lover, video games fanatic, headbanger, and walking enthusiast. And Timothy Olyphant fan!
Can I suggest a speed draft of the actor Richard Brooks who was in one episode of the first season of ER and in an episode of FIREFLY?

It was released in 2007, but is still only available on DVD, which is weird. Doesn't seem to stream anywhere either.

Chev Chelios, Jensen Ames and Terry Leather are my favorites. Nick Wild from Wild Card sounds like either an 90's pornstar or a character in Zootopia.

The only sequel (or in this case spinoff) that is actual good, is the anime one; Highlander: The Search for Vengeance, from the director of Ninja Scroll. Been a while since I have seen it.

It's happening!

I thought he was more of a hustler. But I haven't seen it like 20 years.

Wait, what is the film where he plays a Las Vegas stage magician?
January 28, 2026 at 10:08 AM
My top 3 is Hard Target, Universal Soldier Regeneration and Bloodsport. Also got softspots for Sudden Death, Knock Off and Maximum Risk.

I would be embarresed for BAFTA if they didn't nominate it, at least after nominating Bridget Jones Mad About the boy, and Steve (Jack Black pops in mind when I see that), a Netflix film starring Cillian Murphy I have heard no buzz about.

Was the biggest twist that his best reviewed movie ended up, or that two of his worst reviewed films (or at least audience reaction) was in the top 5?

The lead is played Jeremy Irvin who starred in Steven Spielberg's War Horse 15 years ago.

Can we talk about what a crime it is that DOA: Dead or Alive on have an 18%? One of the most fun video game adaptations since Mortal Kombat. Corey Yuen rules, and that film shows why.

I will be surprised if Hard Eight isn't at the bottom. But there is a few of his later films that might compete for it.

I'm going to rewatch Boogie Nights today, so see if it still a favorite. Also going to rewatch The Master, Inherent Vice and perhaps Magnolia. But I have cast my booster vote.

That must be it. That ONEGIN poster he doesn't look like that in any of the other posters, it's probably made for Cannes or some other film market to try to pre-sell before it was made, and they used a random photo of him on the poster. The stash is too powerful to let him use it in a film.
January 19, 2026 at 10:08 AM
I think he just grew it for fun. He probably wanted to use it in a film, but studios are afraid of the stash. Sunshine was filmed in the second half of 1998, and this interview was probably either late 96 or early 97. ONEGIN was shot in March 1998, and he has one on the poster, but not in the film

The only prep I do for Brad Anderson is watching Worldbreaker right now. Was it the right Anderson for this film? I will know in 75 minutes.
January 18, 2026 at 10:41 PM
Thank god, Billy Ray got high, and it seemed to kick in at the perfect time when he felt completly defeated. I'm not sure a Brad Anderson draft is going live up to the this and the W.S. Anderson draft.

Got Boogie Nights in 4k this Friday, so I'm ready to prep for the PTA draft.

He had some great stories in the three episodes he did with Action For Everyone podcast. They didn't ask anything about Reaping, but heavy into all of his 90s movies, and 24. I feel like he could probably do an episode on all of his movies. What a storyteller he is.
January 18, 2026 at 9:56 PM
It's a shame you never see Patrick Kilpatrick as a villain (or just as a support) in big movies anymore. He was a staple of the 90's, and even was in Minority Report.
January 18, 2026 at 9:29 PM
I do wonder how well it will play on rewatch when that tension is gone, because the film can go anywhere until the twist. But I feel what the film is really about is in the beach conversation between Damond and Affleck. It's really about being good, despite all the shit and unfairness in the world.
January 18, 2026 at 7:55 PM
Only two of does films where drafted in Screendrafts Action Comedy draft. Blame Matthew Krol for Grosse Pointe Blank getting number 1.
January 18, 2026 at 6:49 PM
The film has a really cheap, but kinda fun and sleazy sequel that reminded me of something like Crank 2. You would probably hate.
January 18, 2026 at 6:43 PM
Maybe that's why the film work, you are in a suspense in what film it would become. It's Damon and Affleck so you think it might go dark or bleak, and be meditation on greed. But then it ended being BASIC, and being all about being a good cop despise all the hardship, unfairness and temptions.
