The quince in the garden is blossoming early. I don't usually see the first flowers until the second week of January.

With it being so warm, an azalea in the garden has started to bloom again. The camellia is coming into bloom too, which always adds a cheer to winter days.

Just a few autumn leaves left on the magnolia out front. The renewal’s already begun — bring on spring 2026!

More gorgeous autumn colours

I picked up these paperbacks during the summer. Only just getting around to reading them today. I've started the one on the right, but I'll probably end up having both on the go. One for bedtime reading and the other while I'm cooking.

After several days of gloomy weather, the beautiful sunny Friday vibes have arrived to brighten the mood for the weekend! In the garden, this rhododendron is clearly defying autumn’s rules – its buds bursting open as if spring has returned once more.

Torrential rain all day, but worth it for this gorgeous rainbow 🌈 that appeared when the sun broke through this afternoon.

It’s a gorgeous day in the sunshine. One of the big rhododendrons in the garden is making the most of it — a few buds are starting to open.

Misty start to Thursday! It was a chilly 8° out there, but the sun is now trying to break through. Have a fab day, everyone! #Thursdayvibes

I called in at Wakehurst this morning. There was not enough time for me to do a full walk of the garden, which was just as well because it started to rain.

I picked up Sussex Folk Tales this summer (along with a small stack of local gems). It's perfect for my ADHD work breaks, and when my mind drifts from the screen, I can dip into one folk tale.

I spent a quiet moment with the fuchsias in the garden this afternoon.

In my front yard, the Magnolia stellata is showing off. I love how the bright orange seeds really pop against the green leaves.

A handful of autumn's finest weapons! These beauties are practically begging for a bit of string and a playground battle. Conker season never gets old! #ConkerSeason #AutumnVibes

Last harvest of the year from the garden. Going to savour every bite of these beauties! 🍎 #apples #lastharvest #inmygarden

After yesterday’s torrential rain and gusty winds, my garden’s red roses are blooming beautifully again.

Mirabilis jalapa in somebody's rockery planting. Perhaps I should plant these myself, as I think they're more climate-resilient. I read somewhere that when the plant matures, the yellow flowers gradually change to a dark pink colour, and the white flower variety can change to light violet.

Today, I've been reading Sarah Robbins' new book, 'The Multiply Method', and I already cannot put it down. Growth doesn't happen without first learning new skills. So, I'm equipping myself with new approaches and systems to finish 2025 strong. Let's GO!!! 💪 #personalgrowth #newbook

There was a bulb mountain in my local supermarket this morning. If these turn out to be all the same colour, I'll be shocked.

1st harvest from the garden 🍎😋

Bumble has not been the only busy bee today. 🐝 I took the first steps to launch my latest profit center.

The verbena in the garden is always a mecca for the bees and butterflies. They are spoilt for choice with all the flowers in bloom that attract the pollinators.

I cycled down along the Adur riverbank, a cool breeze in my face the whole way. It was a physically demanding off-road trip, but far more rewarding than simply rushing from A to B by car. Even with a padded saddle, the bumpy ride felt like a real connection with nature.

I made a quick pitstop to admire the beautiful wild flowers 🚴‍♂️
