Feeling unbelievably lucky to have been awarded one of the three (!) DECRAs given to education scholars in this round. I put a lot of hard work into this and I'm looking forward to digging into the nuances of social media sexuality education for queer youth 🌈🎓

I realised I haven't posted about my book here yet for all of my new followers. In 2022 I published 'Sex(uality) education for trans and gender diverse youth in Australia' - if you're interested in sex education, curriculum policy and the online pedagogies of trans youth, check it out! 🌈🎓

Imagining a world where Zooey would have just apologized and said "I'm so sorry for breaking decorum, I never should have said that anti-trans bills kill trans people. It's an honor to serve with all of you, and you were right to not let me speak" instead of this.

Hello current and possible friends! I’ve had a go at creating a “starter pack” of queer scholar activist types who I know (so forgive all the omissions). It’s a small and growing list. Let’s build a fab and fun queer scholarly-activist community! 🌈✨

Sometimes my work feels detached from the realities of trans life & I struggle to see how it will have impact beyond the walls of the academy. Then a senior scholar emails me to tell me my article on Eleanor Rykener was cited in a Supreme Court amicus brief in support of trans youth.
