It's time to move away from @123reg.bsky.social as they're owned by @godaddy.com.
I originally bought domains with GD, but then moved to a British provider. Sadly that isn't the case any more, so I'm trying moving a couple of domains to a different UK provider at renewal. Let's see how things go!

Tonight's adulting task; travel insurance for the family who all have pre-existing medical conditions.
Spend ages filling out the form, select a policy, just to be hit with a "something went wrong, contact us" page...
Humph.

Tip for those that are in the UK and want to watch the original Naked Gun films.
Sky customers (TV, internet, mobile) can get 6 months free Paramount+ via Sky VIP.*
Use a virtual card linked to an empty savings pot, like in Starling, then when the promo expires, you won't get charged!

Regardless of what you think of the numbers themselves, I cannot fathom the order in which these countries are listed!

It's not alphabetical and neither column is in numerical order...

@spaldingvoice.bsky.social Not sure if you're aware, but it's really hard to read articles on your website when the paragraphs aren't vertically spaced. There's no gap between paragraphs so it looks like a large block of text. It looks like a simple CSS fix, and I'm sure others will appreciate it.

Are there any 'slow' radio stations out there that are ambient sounds of a particular location?
If I remember correctly, on the UK SSDAB trials in Brighton, there were sounds of seagulls recorded locally.

Was filling out a form recently that asked when the situation of having an under 5 "will last until?"
I found it a very odd way to phrase the question!

Why does Teams during a meeting give the same prominence to those without cameras on, as those with them on?

I don't want to see two letter initials the same size as someone's video and I'd like the choice to change the layout during a meeting and screen share.

My 19 month old started talking into her maracas today like microphones. 🪇

I took my chance to turn it into her first time hosting a podcast. She loved me talking into one alongside her. 🎙️

Then before bedtime, we did it again, this time with mummy as our second guest. 🙋‍♀️

It was adorable. ❤️

Do people name their cars?

After 4 years of owning ours, my wife decided to gender and name the car last night whilst we were driving! I had never thought of our car as female or called Harriet.

Bluey has Bobo, and David Hasslehoff has KITT.

But what about 'normal' people?

Should meeting hosts ask if you're okay with them using an AI note taking assistant in a call?
I've had two sales calls this past week that have had various AI assistants join as a separate attendee outside the recording of the meeting platform itself.
I kind of wish they'd asked if that was ok.

Okay, Water Wipes. You've had this "New Look, Same Purity" label this whole time we've had our 18 month old.
How is it still 'new'?!

Man alive. I don't quite know who's sold my data, but I've been spammed so much via text message recently!
Fortunately Google Messages is weeding out most of the spam but it's still a bit concerning.

Films I have watched today with my sick 17 month old:
- Shrek
- Paddington 2
- Matilda (not the musical one)

On Christmas Eve we also watched Shrek 2.

And when I say she 'watched' them, she only took in about 20 minutes of each before falling asleep on me.

Today I learnt that £4million in £50 notes stacked is the size of a normal washing machine.

I'll never get to see that amount of money.

Can we stop with the 2FA via text messages?
I much prefer to use an auth app like @bitwarden.bsky.social rather than rely on network availability to receive a text message 10 minutes after I asked for it!

Another press release written this week, this time to celebrate a fellow radio presenter recieving a national award!

This has already been published in some local press, so I'm pretty chuffed with that.

Always happy to should about the station I present on.
