I mean, there’s evidence of this same impulse in romance criticism from, like, 1991 (Dangerous Men and Adventurous Women, edited by Jayne Ann Krentz) so I don’t know that it’s new — but it sure is annoying.

They can indeed! But this is her *only* project. Everything else is flat cartoon stickers with cutesy clip art, in marker. There’s video of her coloring but not sketching or doing linework. It’s strongly suggestive that she’s tracing — which is a great tool for learning, but not something to sell.

I don’t think you’re wrong to ask questions. If you follow the link to the artist’s instagram, this artwork stands out as really different. There’s no process shots, no video of her actually drawing anything. A lot of Disney cartoon characters, nothing in this cover’s style. Sus af.
