I first saw this company name in those early tchotchke pages of Vanity Fair, so I knew instantly they came from the funding world and not the rolance world.

Romance is powered by sincerity and many readers can tell if you’re flinching away from it, like so:

Well, you also say there’s never been an impulse to publicly share card combinations among fans, which … seems pretty self-evidently not the case, judging by the wealth of search results to the contrary.

Still resting the hands, so my little pufferfish guy is a digital painting and not a sculpture (styluses are easier on the joints than beading needles or clay) but I’m pretty happy with him. He had a lot of subtle colors that were very fun!

It is especially bold (derogatory) that they’ve gussied up the position of “unpaid slush pile reader” into something that sounds more like “prestigious literary award judge” if you’re new and eager. DO NOT VOLUNTEER FOR THIS, I BESEECH YOU.

From their website. As with any predatory press, Extraordinary Books FIRST deduct their expenses.

Publisher expenses should come out of their share, not out of the initial royalty pot.

They deduct expenses and THEN still take 50%??? If they’re not for-profit, why do they need that profit? 🧐

Take some advice from someone who has seen this play many, many times before: this is the same old predatory publishing model, not some innovative step forward.

“We deduct our expenses before—“ No, that’s where you can stop reading, everything else is now irrelevant.

Have already quietly blocked this person for unsolicited and VERY inaccurate advice, but also: imagine saying “Just sue your publisher!” to any working author right now.

*hollow laugh*

Can I assume you’ve already read every Sherry Thomas about this?If not, that! If so: Cherish Me by Farrah Rochon, or Bet Me by Jodie Slaughter.

Also, lololol at this summary when I couldn’t recall which title of Farrah Rochon’s I needed for this
