My eyes aren't really in good shape for digital today, so I started colouring this robin instead. Felt like a suitable little friend as we head to December! And using alcohol markers always feels like coming home.

I finished the sketching phase on my Christmas-ish piece, of two of my longest OCs Skia and Alex. I think the old piece was drawn in about 2017 or so. Quite the difference already!

A little more info about this 💙 As part of this situation I rest my stuff on my lap and on the desk to my side, not the full thing haha.

I absolutely don't expect tips, but I would appreciate them if you'd like to support my oil journey!
Just a little more info about the desk chair requirement too: to do art that can't be done in bed atm, what I do is sit in my arm chair and prop my legs up on the current desk chair. Unfortunately it's bulky and too big so not suitable for wheeling or moving around much, meaning if I need something I have to get up. Not very suitable! Meanwhile a reclining desk chair will mean I can wheel around better and keep my legs up with just the chair. It also means I can rest properly in the chair by leaning back to rest, so in theory I will be able to spend longer in the study rather than only manage my current sub hour per week due to my limited capacity to sit up. (And less so when my bone capacity is small, like what has happened this week and I had to drop oil painting plans today) I aim to buy the chair in the winter and tips will just help me purchase faster. So no pressure still, just wanted to provide more context to the access need! It's non urgent but will be massive for my quality of life. 💙

9. It's harder to answer this one as it's like, within what time period? As of course I might not like a number of older pieces in terms of technical skill.

So I'll pick my least favourite painting from the past year. It's not bad at all, I was just so severely ill and it affected the quality.

8. It's a bit hard to settle on one, but if I had to pick it'd be this redraw. Not necessarily just for how it looks (although I'm proud of it) but because it took a lot of tenacity. Most of it was painted when bedbound unable to sit up for long, chipped at bit by bit.

Massage itself was highly needed, all the lumpy tension I had in my arms for years is gone. Unfortunately will be rougher to recover from as mum had a fall when I was out and it was quite the scare seeing her on the floor. But I think it will do me some good after recovery.

3. Definitely have older but the easiest access piece I have currently is this one! I did this on MS Paint with a laptop mouse when I was 12-13 haha.

I was able to spend an hour getting the first layer down on this lion today. Happy with how smoothly it went for my first painting on a canvas! (Just ignore how the base for the mouth is very simple as the sun is disappearing 😂)

I'm Oliver, a queer and disabled/chronically ill artist based in Wales, UK. I love to explore subjects with a modern classical feel, focusing on ethereal edges and lighting, for both original works and fanart.

I was able to do some art today, which resulted in finishing both WIPs I have atm as they were close to being finished—including this painting. Just need to let both sit for a while to check, this one will probably be posted in 1-2 weeks.

Halloween fit 🦴

I didn't think I'd be well enough to get dressed, but I managed it and happy with the outfit I chose! Yes, the shoes came right off and yes, I sat straight down lol.

A zoom and monochrome version!

This is based off a porcelain doll I bought in Strasbourg. I had a mould problem in my old bedroom and she caught some of it. I always felt guilty, but she's had her revenge now.
