This song touches me every time I listen to it. It's as applicable today as it was when the Disney movie first came out. In Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," Esmeralda sings "God Help the Outcasts" after she sees how Quasimodo and her people are treated by society.

Out on YouTube just 42 minutes ago, and it already has 590,000 views. It's going to go in the millions before the day's out. It's so beautiful! The art. The music. The lyrics. Love can save us all from the fate of Ophelia, the tragic heroine in Shakespeare's Hamlet. 🥰

COLUMN: Why is the DOJ botching the Epstein saga?

“The possibilities range from bad to worse” — especially for what they suggest about the country’s legal leadership, writes former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardori.

The field of neuroscience views the goal of human genetics as "finding genes". This is an outdated view. In whole genome studies of rare variants, finding genes is the easy part. The more interesting and important goal is to map out the causal pathway from genes to brain function to cognitive traits
A cross-disorder analysis of CNVs finds novel loci and dose-dependent relationships of genes to psychiatric traits https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2025.07.11.25331310v1

There’s something funny about saying that someone caused something to happen when they didn’t act intentionally — as if that phrasing assigns unintended agency to them. Why is that?

In this new paper below, we take a linguistic approach to answering this question. Lots of interesting data here!
Suppose Tom loses control of his body, and his bodily motions then cause an accident. Would it be right to say “Tom caused the accident?”

A new paper explores the role that language plays in these links between agency and causation!

By lumping the Steele Dossier into the Epstein ‘hoax’, Trump is effectively verifying it.
