Nothing like a hike in high altitudes to regain the perspective. The human race is busy destroying the natural world, but we’ll be gone due to own destruction, and these giants will still be standing.

Shot on my old #Sony a6000 with 35mm/F1.8 - my fave lens.

Nothing so healing as a trek through the high alpine landscape, where the monochrome of snow-clad mountain slopes is interrupted by the fiery orange of turning larch trees.

I never expected that one day I will embrace the arduous high mountain hiking. It’s sweat, tears, and absolute happiness.

A question I ask myself everyday: if you are born in a country of stunning natural beauty, do you ever get used to it to the point of taking it for granted?

I am new here and gasp every time I see the peaks behind the most mundane of cityscapes.

I am at 52% and I cannot put it down. Deeply researched and so well written. I love it when a book keeps me up at night, when it’s “just one more page” until an accidentally look at the clock tells me it’s past midnight on a school night.

@juliaioffe.bsky.social what a great gift to us readers!

These fellas are apparently fittingly called Lawyer’s Wigs.

Obscene. We need to return 90% and higher marginal income tax rate for the ultra rich, and invest in universal healthcare, education, social and food security and all other beautiful things that make life better for everyone.

As a city kid, I know so little of life around me. I started taking pictures of common plants so I know their names.

Meet common sainfoin, a hard worker: feeds bees and butterflies; fixes nitrogen and improves soil, and great for grazing (if you’re a cow).

Say hi when you see one in your hood.

Can you spot Mont Blanc?

My app tells me this little flower is an alpine fleabane.

I love how it defiantly grows in the crack of the payment, offering a respite to a bee or a fly on an otherwise lifeless stretch of street.

Here’s a timeline cleanser. Someone shared a link to this wildlife photographer’s website and I didn’t want it to end.

My best friend and I went on a mountain hike today. It was gorgeous. We are both tuckered out. A day spent in nature slowly awakening to spring. Zero scrolling.

I have recently left Amazon-owned Goodreads for StoryGraph @thestorygraph.com

It’s a great platform to track your reads and to build community through Buddyreads and Readalongs.

If you are there, friend or follow me: I’d love to read together. Or try StoryGraph out: maybe you will like it!

Anyone seriously buying this?

Is this kind of legitimation what media has to do now to self-protect?

To be fair, the rest of the article calls it what it was - a Nazi salute at the US presidential inauguration, that was condoned by the grownups in the room and celebrated by Nazis at large.

What a day. Here’s a photo of a very good boy, to counterbalance all the evil men littering the timeline.

Enjoy the holidays, dear all!

Let the season bring us all calm and peace. Take it slow. Step outside. Smile to your neighbor.

Can’t recommend a better holiday read. Fun, page turner, awe inspiring. Really tickles the imagination and challenges what we thought we knew about the living world around us.

This little planet 🌍 we live on is more magical than any fairy tale. Let’s keep it that way.

This book does an excellent job in telling the story how horrendous this disease was (and still is) and how treatment options were one worse than the other before we got where we are today

(and it also brilliantly covers the history of deep racism in nursing in the US)
